Total office refurbishment to bring life and character

Our 2nd project with MVF was to totally redesign the working space of MVF Wilkin Street, a space residing in a railway arch. The building had tonnes of character but was in need of a total refurbishment. This site was home to MVF's call centre and we wanted it to be more than just a sea of desks and to reflect the company's style and ethos that was shared by their other sites.

A total redesign of the kitchen / social area added in a stylish soft seating area and utilised foliage and greenery to make use of the fantastic light and high ceilings.

Our design scheme was fun and uplifting with details designed to raise a smile. Neon signs added colour and reinforced the brand messages of MVF.

Booth style meeting rooms bursting with character allowed private spaces for 1-2-1s and coaching sessions. The banks of work stations were softened by the use of more plants and the once white walls were redecorated with colourful murals designed by Trifle*.

Energising office design scheme

MVF’s company culture and people exude fun and enthusiasm. We also had the very characterful base of the railways arches to influence our design scheme.

The conceptual approach was designed to reflect the company’s style and ethos that the other sites shared and the capture the energy of the call centre’s team who have a positive and fun approach to work.

Overall, the scheme was light and bright and incorporated design decisions that would bring a smile to people’s faces. Some relaxed meeting rooms included colourful feature walls and whimsical accessories whilst others, where more focused work was required showcased a paired back palette but still included subtle nods of colour to keep the design scheme consistent and connected.

Bespoke design details to finish the office space

We loved the challenge of working within the railway arches and we were keen to celebrate the interesting shapes of the building as much as possible.

However, slightly awkward shapes and spaces meant that we had to think creatively about how we solved spatial issues. Our design team enjoyed creating a wealth of clever, bespoke solutions to make the space work for the MVF team and we included lots of bespoke joinery items that worked for these areas.

Banquette seating with narrow tabletops were an excellent space saving solution to create a much needed social area. Railway sleepers were used to build bench seating that provided the perfect little nook for small catch ups and continued to tell the story of the building.
