Stuff that inspires us

Hello stranger

October 21st, 2011

We’ve been a bit rubbish and neglected our lovely little scrapblog for many months, we plan to rectify this over the coming months (as I’m writing this just wondering how many blog posts cover this same topic?!). Anyway we’ve been busy working on projects, seeking out new inspiration to stay fresh and creative, learning new things and various other adventures including making it onto the Smarta 100 list , a brilliant list who look to ‘celebrate the UK’s most original and exciting small businesses’. Needless to say we were excited to have made the list and be amongst such cool and innovative organisations.

To see some of what we’ve been up to have a peek at our Facebook page and we love chatting to people via Twitter

More news very soon….

Our latest project for Deluxe Digital

May 19th, 2011

What does your office say about you?

Our latest office refurbishment project for leading film post production company Deluxe Digital Ltd was centered around 3 challenges:

Space : how can we use it more efficiently?
Storytelling : how can our office showcase our brand & culture beyond our logo?
Synergy : how can the environment break down silos & improve workflow?

Team trifle* renovated and re-energised 10,000 sq ft, across 4 floors, for around 150 staff, transforming this dated, cramped office block into an workplace that was impressive to clients and motivating for staff.

“The thing I liked about working with Trifle is the confidence they bring to a project. My business is growing rapidly and runs 24/7 to service my major film studio clients. Therefore, I needed someone who could not only come up with a plan that was sensitive to our “full on” needs but also be ready to bend this as our client demands changed across the project.

I asked Trifle to come up with a design and plan that would firstly make better use of the space we had and to also make us look like a film company, not the insurance broker feel we previously had to the building! I was sold on the first idea they came back with. Next step was to manage the enthusiastic, yet sometimes conflicting, ideas from the rest of my team which they did with great efficiency and diplomacy. My budget was relatively tight but they made it work to its fullest I have to say. Despite many changes to the original order of the works due to business timing demand changes Trifle delivered the project on time and within budget.

Trifle come highly recommended and I will use them again.”

The Insider talks to team trifle*

October 14th, 2010

A few weeks ago we met up with One Magnolia founder Sam Lizars. One Magnolia describe themselves as an ‘inside-out’ consultancy, which to us means for people, by people. So in the work or business context it’s about getting the most out of your staff, teams, employees….people. And it kind of goes without saying we’re big fans of this way of doing things! Sam wanted to find out more about our approach and how we think a work environment can impact on people and their working lives….we could have talked for hours!

August 19th, 2010

We have been a little slack on the blogging front of late due to a huge and very exciting re-design project we’ve been working on! We hope to be able to share some more info on the project soon. In the meantime feel free to follow us on twitter, where we are regularly sharing bits of inspiration, here’s a little taster:

Young Architects Buy Detroit Home for $500, Turn It into Design Lab

August 18th, 2010

Found this blog post on great US design blog tumblingupwind and had to share it – very cool approach to creating creative spaces.

The 5 fellows at University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture bought a house in Detroit (well, Hamtramck but we all know that’s Detroit) for $500 and that’s where the story begins.

They’ve spent this year transforming the run down house into an architecture “design lab” where they were free to create spaces not seen anywhere else.

Take a listen to this radio interview with 3 of the fellows to get an idea of their thought processes.
